Mid-Victorian cast-iron Boat Winch, built by R.H.Michell, Engineer of Mount Stuart Iron Works, Cardiff.

R.H. Michell was one of Wales prominent mechanical engineers of the mid-nineteenth century operating out of Mount Stuart Iron Works in Cardiff. Michell was closely associated with the development of Cardiff docks, particularly in the fabrication of iron machinery and marine steam engines.
